Chilean exchange CryptoMKT has partnered with merchant platform Flow to allow Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Stellar to be accepted at over 5000 merchant outlets. This allows cryptocurrency holders to buy everyday goods. So in Chile, you could actually buy a carton of milk and a box of cereal for breakfast with Bitcoin, something that I still can’t do in the United States. This is a big step and the main hurdle to people taking cryptocurrency seriously as a medium of exchange because you can’t function as a medium or exchange if no one accepts you as a payment. Hopefully other countries follow suit pending its success in Chile because I can see a lot of Cryptos rocketing up in price if merchants start a mass adoption.
